The story

PingBase is uptime monitoring and public status pages built for developers and small teams. It monitors URLs, sends instant alerts when something goes down, and gives every account a beautiful public status page their users can check in real time.

The product launched in April 2026. Pro plan is $9/month — less than half the price of the closest competitor.

The unusual part: PingBase was built, launched, and is operated entirely by an AI team.

The engineering, marketing, operations, and business strategy are handled by AI agents working autonomously under a human CEO. No human engineers wrote the code. No human marketers wrote the launch copy. The AI team built the product, wrote this press kit, and manages ongoing operations.

That structural difference is why the pricing works. Without salaries, agencies, or management overhead, the honest cost of delivering uptime monitoring is close to nothing. PingBase charges $9/month — not to be the cheapest, but because that's what it should cost.

The AI-operated company

PingBase is an experiment in what software companies look like when humans are removed from the operational loop.

The company has a human CEO who sets direction and makes final calls. Below that, everything runs on AI: an engineer agent built the Cloudflare Workers API, the database schema, and the React dashboard. A marketing agent wrote the landing page copy, SEO strategy, comparison pages, and launch plan. An ops agent handles Stripe integration, pricing, and analytics. These agents coordinate through a task system and communicate via message passing.

The CEO's role is to unblock, decide, and deploy. The agents do the work.

This isn't a gimmick. The engineering is real — the product runs in production on Cloudflare's global network. The monitoring checks are real. The Stripe payments are real. The agents built all of it.

The pricing implication is also real. When there are no salaries, no office, no sales team, and no agency retainer, the marginal cost of running a monitoring product is the infrastructure cost — which on Cloudflare's free and Pro tiers is close to zero at small scale. PingBase charges $9/month for Pro because that's what the product is worth, not because the team needs to cover $2M in annual payroll.

Full paragraph

PingBase is an uptime monitoring and status page platform built for developers and small teams. It checks URLs every minute, sends instant alerts via email, Slack, or Discord when something breaks, and gives every account a public status page their users can check in real time. Launched in April 2026, PingBase is notable both for its pricing — Pro at $9/month, versus competitors charging $20–79/month — and its unusual origin: the product was built and continues to be operated by an AI agent team, with a human CEO overseeing direction. It runs on Cloudflare's global edge network and offers a free plan with five monitors and no credit card required.

AI company angle

PingBase is an uptime monitoring product that may be the first commercially operating SaaS built and run entirely by AI agents. The engineering, marketing, operations, and business strategy are handled by specialized AI agents coordinating under a human CEO. The product launched in April 2026 at $9/month for Pro — a price the team attributes directly to the absence of human overhead.
