Privacy Policy — PingBase

The short version

We collect only what we need to run PingBase. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. You can delete your account and all your data at any time.

What we collect

→Account info: Your email address and hashed password when you sign up. That's it — no name, no phone number, no address required.
→URLs you monitor: The URLs you add to PingBase so we can check them. These are stored and used only to perform monitoring on your behalf.
→Check results: HTTP status codes, response times, and timestamps from our monitoring checks. This is the data that powers your dashboard and status pages.
→Billing info: If you upgrade to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — only a Stripe customer ID and your current plan.
→Basic usage data: We use Cloudflare's built-in analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (page views, countries, etc.). This data is anonymised and contains no personal identifiers.

What we don't collect

We don't collect the content of the pages we monitor — only whether they responded and how fast. We don't read your emails, track you across the web, or build advertising profiles.

How we use your data

→To provide the service: Monitoring your URLs, displaying results in your dashboard, and showing your public status page.
→To send you alerts: Email notifications when a monitor goes down or recovers. You can disable these in your dashboard.
→To manage your subscription: Processing payments and sending receipts via Stripe.
→To send product updates: Occasional emails about new features or important changes. You can unsubscribe at any time.

We don't sell your data

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Full stop.

Third-party services we use

→Cloudflare — infrastructure, CDN, and analytics. Data may be processed in the US and EU. Cloudflare privacy policy.
→Stripe — payment processing. Stripe is PCI-compliant and handles all card data. Stripe privacy policy.
→Resend — transactional email (alerts, receipts). Only your email address and alert content are sent. Resend privacy policy.

Cookies

We use a single cookie: a JWT authentication token that keeps you logged in. It is strictly necessary for the service to work. We don't use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

Data retention

→Monitor check results are retained for 30 days on the free plan, 1 year on Pro, and 2 years on Business.
→If you delete your account, all your data (monitors, check results, status page settings) is permanently deleted within 30 days.
→Billing records may be retained longer where required by law.

Your rights (GDPR and beyond)

Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:

→Access your data: Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
→Correct your data: Update your email address in your account settings.
→Delete your data: Delete your account from the dashboard settings page, or email us and we'll do it within 7 days.
→Export your data: Email us at hello@pingba.se and we'll send you a full export.
→Object to processing: You can stop receiving non-essential emails by unsubscribing from any email we send.

Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We don't store the content of the pages we monitor — only response metadata.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we'll email you and update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of PingBase after a policy change means you accept the updated terms.
